Magic is an illusion that makes impossible things seem to happen. This is a trick performed by a magician and usually a part of entertainment. Once a magician is on stage everyone's eye is on focus to all his moves. All amazed watching every flicks and moves of his fingers. as if everyone wants to know how he does it.
Dance is a movement of feet and body rhythmically, usually in time to music, the body moves as the music beats. A dance guru is someone who has the expertise on dancing.
Night of March 20,2011 in KCC Convention & Events Center here in our city General Santos, a valuable live performance of " Alakim -"The Magician" and Jhong Hilario "the dance Guru" is on show. It's almost 8 :00 in the evening when people applauded as the echoing voice of the emcee announced the appearance of Alakim- the magician. Gazing around, I saw hundreds of spectators were there.People in all walks of life, young and old, children, mothers , fathers, youths, grandpas and grandmoms were there. Some I know and say hi , some I don't know too. Some were seated and some stands because no more chair available. There were foreigners too. I say to myself that Alakim and Jhong were already big names in entertainment industry because so many were there to watch their show.
The crowd were so happy seeing Alakim on stage. You can hear how people shout and applaud as he waved his hands and flicked his fingers doing magic tricks. To recall, Alakim been seen first in Pilipinas got a talent showing his magic tricks and now he showed it to us.Wow!!! As he moved his hands and waved on air butterflies appear and flew around to the amazement of the crowd. Butterflies, more butterflies keep on appearing out of his hands and keep on flying towards the crowd while one hovers on his hat.. You can hear people shout in great amazement. It's a trick but how he does it? Aside to this, he is a good ventriloquize. someone who can produce voice sounds to come to somewhere other than the speaker. And he uses a kid to be his live puppet to the amusement of the crowd. And two more shows he does.
Then comes Jhong Helario's show. As the Dance Guru appear, everybody now at the back is standing on their chairs to the madness of few. Jhong Helario dances as if you are beckoned to come to him . He invited a lady preferred to be single and of legal age to be his watching partner on stage. So many ladies raise hands and one lady age 20 been lucky to be with him to act as dance partner. The music " with you by Chris brown " is being played and while he dances in front of her lady partner in sexy moves , the audience shouted happily. . It is a mix hip hop and sexy dance with rhythmic body movement. Teenagers shouted especially the girls when Jhong move in front of the lady and try to embraced her, hiding their faces with his polo shirt. You can hear the ladies giggled but it's part of the show..part of growing up as they say. The nice part , Jhong give the polo to the lady while the crowd shouted in contentment and approval. She's lucky according to some girls. Last part of Jhong show is the portrayal of Mara & Clara, a famous soap drama series in local tv program. Gensan girls were good in portraying roles. The lady who volunteered to play the role of Mara has been encouraged by Jhong to audition whenever there's a show in Gensan because she portrays well..
The show ended well with everybody so amused and amazed. Job well done. God bless everyone.
